Responsible Gaming

This page sets out how to keep gambling decisions deliberate rather than reactive, and it points to where independent help can be found. It does not run an account, take a deposit or place a bet: everything of that kind happens after a reader leaves this site.

Decide the amount and the moment before you start

Set the amount you are willing to spend before you open any game, and treat that amount as already spent the moment you commit it. Deciding in advance removes the pressure of deciding mid-session, when a run of losses or a near win can distort what feels reasonable. For the same reason, never chase a loss by increasing a stake to recover it: a bigger bet does not change the odds of the next round, it only increases what is at risk. Keep gambling money separate from money that is borrowed or owed elsewhere, since a loss on borrowed funds becomes a second problem on top of the first. Taking regular breaks helps interrupt the momentum that keeps a session running longer than intended, and involving someone else — a partner, friend or family member — early, as soon as gambling stops feeling like entertainment, makes it far easier to step back than waiting until the amounts involved have grown.

Find independent help through the links on this page

Every page of this site, including this one, carries links to three independent gambling-help organisations: gamblinghelpline.co.nz, gamblingtherapy.org and pgf.nz. These are the only outbound links on the site that are not commercial. Unlike the operator links elsewhere on this site, they carry no sponsored marking, are set to nofollow, and open in a separate tab on the organisation's own website. This site receives nothing when a reader follows one of them.

Know that operator controls live at the destination, not here

Controls such as deposit caps, loss caps, reality checks, cooling-off periods or self-exclusion belong to an account held with an operator. This site has no account system, no form and no server-side application behind it, so nothing published here can switch such a control on, check its status or enforce it. If you want any of those controls, they are arranged inside the account at the destination site you reach through an operator link, under that destination's own rules.

Understand what this site does and does not check

The eighteen-and-over restriction is repeated throughout this build, including on the front page and at the end of every operator listing, but no age is verified on this site itself and no gambling takes place on it. Any age check happens at the destination once an operator link is followed. Each of the ten operator listings ends with the same line: check availability and the current terms at the destination before claiming anything, since eligibility rules and terms apply there and can change without notice. There is no advertising or behavioural profiling network on these pages, so nothing here is targeted at a reader based on prior behaviour.
